For me, travel and photography are two threads tightly wound together. “Put down the camera and enjoy where you are!” people will say. But in truth, I see more, participate more, and understand more of where I am when there is a camera in my hand. Over the years it’s been my good fortune to find myself in far-flung corners of the world, including newly opened China (1980 and 1982), Greece, Poland, Hungary, Slovenia, the Yucatan, and Southeast Asia. Following a Fulbright year in 1993-94, I have returned numerous times to explore Turkey. More recent travels have been to Russia, Central Asia, Iran, Chile, Argentina, Antarctica, New Guinea, and Madagascar. Technical Note: Photographs were made with medium format, 35mm, and digital cameras. Copyright © Ellen Land-Weber 1980-2019. Written permission is required for reproduction by any means worldwide.
